Bio

Vee Adams is an artist from New Orleans working at the intersection of print, zine, and installation to envision queer futures and possibilities. Adams is currently a co-curator of the Queer Ecology Hanky Project, an ongoing traveling print exhibition with interdisciplinary programming, featuring over one hundred and thirty artists. Adams helped found the New Orleans Community Printshop and organized community-focused printmaking programming there for 7 years. They have shown their work at galleries across the US including—the Ogden Museum of Southern Art (New Orleans, LA),  Brewhouse Gallery (Pittsburgh, PA), and Neon Raspberry Art House (Occidental, CA).  They have done residencies at institutions such as the Joan Mitchell Center (New Orleans, LA), Women’s Studio Workshop (Rosendale, NY), and La Ceiba Gráfica (Veracruz, MX). Adams received their MFA from the University of New Orleans in 2025.

Artist Statement

My work explores the eccentric livelihoods of the more-than-human world—the everyday alchemy of the life cycles of fungi, the radical transformations of  microorganisms, and the resilience of lichens. I am interested as a queer and trans artist in investigating possibilities for 

collective transformation.  What’s possible, when the body is reframed as a landscape—a site of growth and transformation? What shifts, when  communities are reenvisioned as vital multi-species networks?  More than symbols, I hold these fungal and botanical forms as shapeshifting kin and collaborators for envisioning new worlds.
