Artist Statement

As a risograph printmaker, much of my work is steeped in the culture and community of independent publishing and zine-makers. I seek to present and preserve queer history by investing in the practices of archiving, collecting, and collaging– melding the old with the new. I am interested in using the large-scale capabilities of risograph printmaking to express tenderness and vulnerability, connect readers to their communities, and foster an affection for printed matter in the wider world. I am always looking to use my abilities as a designer and printmaker to forward a cause I believe in. Harnessing the power of the press for the greater good is part of the beautiful tradition of queer artists I hope to remember and emulate with my work.
