Desiree Aspiras

About the Artist

Desiree Aspiras is an educator, therapist, and printmaker in San Diego who deeply values how art can transform us and connect us to meaning. Her printmaking and book arts projects have been exhibited in spaces in San Diego, including the Athenaeum Art Center. In 2020, she started the Printmakers Against Racism project to engage printmakers across the world to sell their prints and donate the proceeds to organizations fighting systemic racial injustice. In its first three campaigns, the project raised a total of over $44,000. She owns a Nolan proof press and hopes to cultivate a contemplative printmaking practice and studio called Deep Breath Press.
