Artist Statement

My work blends my printmaking practice with a deep exploration of lived experiences, memory and nostalgia. I strive to go beyond representation and physical likeness, and utilize color, texture, and symbolism to delve into the deeper essence of my subjects. Drawing on my Southern roots, my work reflects cultural and historical narratives, inviting viewers to connect with the broader human experience. The repetitive nature of printmaking allows me to uncover new layers of meaning with each impression, creating a dialogue between past and present, individual and collective, and encouraging viewers to engage with shared stories and experiences.
